Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you're not sure what to expect. I try to make the process as straightforward as possible, beginning with a free initial call where we can talk through what's bringing you to therapy and see if we're a good fit for working together.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation call via Zoom. This is a chance for us to talk about what's bringing you to therapy, for you to ask any questions you might have, and for us both to get a sense of whether we'd work well together. There's no pressure or obligation. It's simply an opportunity to see if this feels right for you.
I work integratively, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what's most helpful for you. My training is rooted in humanistic and psychodynamic practices, and I've completed additional training in trauma therapy with a focus on relational and body-based work.
I pay attention to how trauma and stress affect the nervous system and shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. This isn't about reliving difficult experiences, but about understanding how they might still be affecting you now and finding ways to move forward with more ease.
I'm interested in how we carry things in our bodies, not just our minds. Part of our work together might involve slowing down and noticing what your body is trying to tell you. I also recognise that we all experience and process feelings differently. For some people, especially those who are neurodivergent, that awareness might come through thoughts, patterns, or simply a sense of knowing rather than a physical felt sense. There's no right way to tune in, and we'll find what works for you.
The first couple of sessions are a chance to get a sense of who you are, what’s brought you here, and what you might need from this space. I’ll begin to build a picture of your background, while also making space for whatever feels most important for you to bring. This might take a session or two, depending on how you’d like to use the time.
