Chronic health conditions meant I had to step away from a previous career. After a period of readjustment, I moved into counselling and psychotherapy, a journey shaped by my own experiences of change and loss. I am also late-diagnosed neurodivergent. This background informs how I work, particularly with people living with chronic illness, neurodivergence and those in performance-based or high-pressure roles. It also helps me connect with those navigating identity shifts, grief, and periods of transition.
I grew up in a working-class family, and that's informed how I think about access, power, and what it means to take up space in a room. It also means I'm conscious of how the socio-political climate affects our daily lives, and I'm open to exploring those realities in our sessions if they're relevant to what you're carrying. I’m also committed to the continual task of an anti-racist practice.
Over the past decade, I've worked in a range of mental health settings, including charities, low-cost counselling services, and private practice. I've completed additional training in trauma therapy, with a focus on relational and body-based approaches. What draws me to this work is helping people understand the connections between their past, their body, and how they relate to themselves and others now.
Qualifications
I'm committed to ongoing professional development and receive regular clinical supervision. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
